Help to boost Pasifika vaccination rates
Coronavirus 3 v2

We want to spread the word about a video presentation in Tongan that explains how the Pfizer vaccine works.

Tongan immunologist Chris Puli’uvea and virologist Dr Natalie Netzler from the University of Auckland and the Maurice Wilkins Centre have prepared the video.

They are part of a team working on communications to answer questions about the vaccine in several Pacific languages and te reo Māori to boost vaccination rates.

We encourage you to share with your networks the video in Tongan about how the COVID-19 vaccine works.

Total Healthcare has also filmed a video about the COVID-19 vaccine with Samoan subtitles. It features our community liaison manager Lorenzo Kaisara speaking with Tāmaki Health’s director of clinical, quality and CME, Dr Richard Hulme. Please note since this video was made vaccinations have opened up to anyone aged 5 or over.

There are also written translations of COVID-19 vaccination information available on the COVID-19 website in multiple Pasifika languages including Samoan, Tongan, Tuvaluan, Fijian and Niuean.
