SSP report v2

We’re proud of our mahi that aims to improve quality of life, and equity in outcomes for Māori and other communities with inequities. Our newly released Total Healthcare Statement of Service Performance 2023/2024 reports on our performance in the last financial year.

There were more than 1 million patient encounters in our clinics including 67,000 interventions by dedicated long-term condition facilitators to support initiatives like self-management and discharge care coordination.

We continue to provide the most comprehensive array of wellness support services in the country. Interventions from this team included 13,000 by health coaches, 12,700 by health improvement practitioners and 1,300 by our psychiatrist Dr David Codyre.

Here are other highlights:

  • More than 200,000 after-hours consults were provided.
  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) self-testing is proving popular with 11,000 tests completed.
  • There were 23,000 cardiovascular risk assessments undertaken.
  • Smoking cessation counsellors provided 34,000 interventions.
  • Gandhi Nivas family harm prevention services supported 800 people. The free service supports men to change their behaviour, reducing the likelihood of further family harm and increasing safety for their families.
